Digi-Stamp Blog Project by Anne

Hello. Craftyanneecan here. I hope all you avid card makers are ready for another project.

My card, ‘Best Wishes on your Retirement’ using several of the lovely Little Claire digi stamps does take a little bit of time, but I hope you will agree with me that it is worth it.

You will need:

Little Claire Man shed stamp
Little Claire Deckchair Man stamp
Little Claire Bay tree stamp
Little Claire Silhouette Gardening stamp
Base card - white 20x20cm
Inkjet printable watercolour paper
Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities
Grand Squares the largest 2 squares
Woodware recycled A4 ribbed brown card 280g
Polychromous coloured pencils and a blending pencil.
Promarker alcohol pens
Computer design package
Signo Sparkly red pen Memento “Tuxedo Black” ink pad
Silicone glue, glue dots or small foam pads, whichever you prefer.
Die cutting machine of your choice.

How to make the card:

Open up each of the digi images into your preferred design package(I use My Craft Studio Elite).
Lasoo and cut out each of the images close to the image so that they will fit together. Cut the bowl off the bay tree, but leaving the little bird. Resize the deckchair man ready to put him at the front of your picture at the end.

Compose your picture, sitting the little bird on top on the small bush in front
of the shed which will ensure that the bay tree is in the correct place.

Open another page in the design program and turn the design to horizontal and copy it. Do the same with the deckchair man and copy him 3 times to be later.

Re- check size and layout then print out your shed and apple tree image on the watercolour paper. LEAVE THE INK TO DRY for a few minutes.

Place the smaller of the 2 square dies on top of your printed image. Draw lightly round the outside of it using a pencil to demarcate where you will need to colour and add the hills.

Lightly draw in the hills and lines radiating out from the sides of the shed to demarcate the front part of the card.

Use your polychromous pencils colour in the sky and the hills and use the blending pencil to merge the different colours to create the effect you want.

Use a fine waterproof pen draw in the fences and add some blades of grass.

Colour the shed, plants and the bay tree with alcohol pens.

Now print out and colour the copies of the shed, bay tree and plants and the man in the deckchair. Cut them out and decoupage them up using the silicone glue. DO NOT attach them to your card yet.

Stamp the sentiment at the bottom left hand side of the card. Cut out your picture. with the smaller of the 2 square dies.Use the larger square die; cut out the brown ribbed card.

Mount the picture onto the ribbed paper and then mount this onto your card.

Add the decoupaged shed and bay tree onto your picture. Use the sparkly red pen to add some colour to the silhouette apples on the tree.

Finally….Place your dozing deckchair man at the bottom right of the card, linking the image and the card.

I hope you enjoy using these lovely digi-designs to make your own cards as much as I have.
