Weekly Blog Project - Shadow box card

Good Morning everyone, Donna here, it's my turn to do a tutorial here at Little Claire's. As there seems to be a lot of people getting married now, I thought I would make a wedding card.

You will need: A4 piece of card

On Your Wedding Day stamp set

Sentiment Mix stamp set

Gold Mirror card

Martha Stewart border punch

Spellbinders Circles & Scalloped Circles, Bitty Blossoms and Floral Flourishes dies

Promarkers - Black, Ice grey 4, 2, 1, Blush, Mustard, Pastel Yellow,Burnt Sienna, Caramel, Sandstone & Satin

Cream paper ( to make the flowers with Bitty Blossoms)

Adhesive pearls

Using the A4 pice of card, cut 2 pieces measuring 21cm x 14.5cm.

Then score as shown below at 3cm, 5.5cm, 15.5cm & 18cm

 Cut off 1.5cm off each of the ends of one of the pieces, this will be the back of the shadow box.

Then using a Martha Stewart punch, punch a border down each end of the other piece (the front)  and using  a plain circle die cut a hole in the centre section, as shown below.

Stamp out the wedding couple on a piece of stamping card measuring 14cm x 9.5cm and colour using Promarkers.

Fold the back of the shadow box as shown and stick in the image as shown below.

Fold the front as shown below.

Then stick the front to the back (wet glue is best) as shown below.

Cut out a scalloped ring in gold mirror card, stamp & cut out a sentiment & scallop circle in gold mirror card as shown below.

Stick to the front of shadow box and then decorate with gold mirror flourishes & flowers made from bitty blossoms. Add adhesive pearls as shown to finish.

Taking a fresh look at some favourite designs...

A super day at Stamp Magic craft show in Doncaster...

Steve had a great day yesterday at the Stamp Magic show in Doncaster together with our lovely Donna who produced a super selection of cards during her demonstration and here are a couple of pics from the day:

WOW!  you can just make out Donna sitting down....

A very busy day!  Donna made a selection of gorgeous cards so as soon as Steve gets them from the boxes (that is what the day after a show is like - lots of unpacking) we will photo them and post here for you to see.

Weekly Project - Friday 8th June

Good morning everyone – I hope you have all had a lovely Jubilee Week.  It is my turn  (Gaynor) for the Little Claire Weekly Project today, also the last day of my Whit Hols, I have really enjoyed having a breather and guilt free crafting.

Today’s card I created for my very good friend Judy, whose Birthday it was on Monday 4^th June………. Judy doesn’t have this many cats however she helps far more daily supporting Cats Protection.  She is also an avid reader! Hence the themed cat bookmark! I hope that she liked her card.  Whilst I appreciate that this card is very personal for her – perhaps some aspects from it may act as a little inspiration……….I hope so.

Ingredients:

Can’t Make Tea – Cat on Knee Stamp

Super Six Sentiments

Little Beauties – Tag Stamps

Stamped in Memento Ink Black

Backing papers from The Workshop – Chilli range.

6x6 Scalloped Square

Card Blank - top scored and folded to create easel card

Nestabilities Circular Lace Die Cut

Small Flower Punches

Card Candi

Small blue brad

Orange ribbon

Promarkers (Ultra fine Nibs) in the following colours:-

Almond, Putty, Blush, Tan, Honeycomb, Pastel Blue, Burgundy, Pastel Beige, Cool Grey 1 and Cool Grey 4.

Method.

Stamp out Can’t Make Tea plus sentiment – sentiment stamped onto “bookmark” sized card, Circular Sentiment and Tag Stamp onto white stamping card.

Stamp out Can’t Make Tea onto striped paper and cut out the chair parts – a little fiddly but not too tricky.

Colour stamped image and fix chair paper using wet glue.  This allows a little movement while paper piecing.

Cut out image using circle die and matt onto orange, matt onto burgundy paper die cut using nestabilities lace.

Cut out circle sentiment and matt onto burgundy nestabilities lace.

Matt and layer orange spotty paper onto burgundy paper.  One piece for the base of the card and a smaller piece to matt onto front lower half.

Matt two small amounts of Gerbera Pattern card onto Burgundy Paper – the strips will provide the holding points for the bookmark.

Round the corners on the bookmark strip and matt onto burgundy paper.  Fix circular sentiment matted using 3D pads onto the end.  Round the corners of the burgundy paper.

Tie orange ribbon into a triple bow – I used my bowmaker!

Fix stamped image onto backing card using 3D foam pads.

Punch out flowers from backing papers.  Assemble little tag with punched out flowers and brad to fix. Prior to sticking the papers onto the card………





Card Candi added to bookmark strips and sentiment for interest and additional stopper for the card topper plus a little orange ribbon.

A Visit to the 'Share Your Skills' Craft Class

Last week we were invited to give a Little Claire class for the ladies of the Share Your Skills craft group in Wrexham.  DT member Helen N hosted the class - it was a great morning and a big thank you to the ladies for inviting us to join them!  

Here are a few of the cards the ladies made:

First of all a card using the very cute 'Splishing and Splashing' stamp with kraft paper and also some pink patterned paper - Helen paper pieced the umbrella to match the background.

Next they made a tag card using some of the images and the little borders from the Pom Pom Dahlia Outline Sticker Sheet.  On this card Helen used blue gingham paper and also some of the new die cut sentiments.

Finally, a card using the 'Seascape' set with red card and blue patterned paper.

Weekly Blog Project - Easy Stepper Card

Good morning everyone its Lyndsey here, and I am very excited to be doing my first Weekly Blog Tutorial for Little Claire.

Today I am going to show you how to make this fabulous Easy Stepper Card

Supplies

For The Card

Joie De Vivre Clear Stamp

Stamped in Memento Ink Black

First Edition - Boho Chic 6x6 Paper Pad

6x6 Square Card Blank

Coloured Card

Fancy Die Cut Shapes

Promarkers (Ultra fine Nibs) in the following colours :-

Skin - Coral, Dusky Pink, Blush

Hair - Cinnamon, Tan, Satin

Flowers - Burnt Orange, Peach, Soft Peach

Butterflies/Hearts - Antique Pink, Dusky Rose, Budding Rose

Grass - Olive Green, Moss, Pear Green, Lime Green

For the Flowers

Medium Flower Punch

White Card

White Candi

Flourish Die

Green Card

Embossing Tool

Promarkers in the following colours :-

Burnt Orange, Peach, Soft Peach

Draw feint lines across the card blank - 3cm in from the top, bottom & LH sides.

Draw a feint line across the card blank - 3cm up from the prescored line

Score along the 6 Pink lines

Cut along the 2 Green lines

Mountain & Valley fold the card as shown above

Your card should now look like this

Trim a piece of coloured card to 14.5cm x 2.5cm

& 2 pieces to 11cm x 2.5cm

Trim a piece of patterned paper to 14cm x 2cm

& 2 pieces to 10.5cm x 2cm

Matt these onto the card as shown above

Stamp, colour and Die Cut the image using a fancy shape

Die Cut a larger fancy shape from coloured card

Matt these onto the card blank as shown

Stamp & Die Cut the sentiment

Punch out 5 flower shapes, colour with Peach & Soft Peach promarkers to match the flowers on the image.

Shape flowers with embossing tool & add a Candi coloured with Burnt Orange to each centre.

Die Cut flourish and chop up to add a bit to each flower.

Add all embelishments onto the card as shown above
