Weekly Blog Project - Butterfly Bling

 This week it's my turn (Helen N) to host the weekly blog project and I've got a clean and simple card for you with a bit of added bling!

Anyone who knows my stamping style will know that I make a lot of clean and simple cards and also that I'm not a big fan of glitter.  However, Little Claire sell an amazing product that has meant I can finally use glitter to achieve a great result without any mess!  Have a look here on the website at the Glitter Sparkle Sheets to see what I'm talking about.

And they're not just for Christmas!  They add a perfect touch of bling to both stamped and peel off images and can also be used to give sparkle to backing papers.  My card uses just a small amount of one sheet and is also a great way to use up that little tiny bit left of one of the sheets.

Here's what you'll need:

Little Claire 'Butterfly' stamp

black paper

blue card

Promarkers - Pastel Blue, Denim Blue and Caramel

white stamping card

white square card blank

Glitter Sparkle Sheet 

Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad 

Promarker Ultrafine Nibs 

black self adhesive gems

And this is what you need to do:

1. Stamp the 'Butterfly' image twice on to white card using the Memento ink pad:

2. Colour both images using the Promarkers.  You don't have to colour the base layer where it will be covered by the decoupaged parts but I think it looks neater if you do.  Also a tip to make your butterfly more defined - use the Denim Blue Promarker with a Ultrafine Nib to go round the inside edge of the wings.

3. Cut the base image to a panel measuring 10cm by 8cm and then layer on to black paper and blue card.  Attach this to the base card:

4. Cut a small piece of the Glitter Sparkle Sheet, peel off the backing and lay it on your craft mat with the sticky side up.  Place your second butterfly on to the sheet (image side to the sticky part!) and then burnish.  I find this the easiest way to attach the Glitter Sparkle Sheet without any bubbles or wrinkles.  Next cut out the inside parts of the wings and then attach with foam pads over the base image:

 

5. Finish the card with some self adhesive gems:

What a Loverly Jubberlie morning it is here on the Wirral....

The sun is shining and I have got washing out on the line!  Is it just me or is anyone else really into the joy of hanging washing out in the sunshine and watching it blow?  I just love it!!!
It's a loverly jubblie morning here at Little Claire because we have received some gorgeous 'loverly jubblie' cards recently from our wonderful DT's and we just have to share them with you:

Here is our lovely 'Daisy Bunting' made into an easel card, love the use of bunting and buttons and little Daisy has been decoupaged. The 'daughter' sentiment is from our new 'Dictionary Definitions' click here

These 'jubblie' images are nice and open making them so easy to colour and decoupage, they are a good size too for your cards...

Above is our 'Maybe' Loverly Jubblie, little Robert fishing - look at the detail incorporated here by Georgina; strips of paper interspersed with blue dots on the card with the blue ribbon cutting through the dotty paper.  The brown buttons are from our 'Buttons & Stitiching' stamp set click here which are just so useful as you can choose whatever colour you wish for your buttons and the 'Son' sentiment is again from our 'Dictionary Definitions' set which we think is one of those sets that you always reach for to complete your cards - and the bunting running across top of card is from our 'Bunting' stamp set click here which gives you the bunting, complete alphabet and numbers 0 -9 and you can see that Georgina has used her set to create '12 Today'.
So, 'loverly jubblie' cards to go with some nice, 'loverly jubblie' weather outside, now, off to see if the washing has dried and give it a good sniff!!

Weekly Blog Project - 'Sunny Days' Bookmark

Good afternoon, welcome to another weekly blog project. This week, it is my turn (Heidi) to design a project. I have made a very quick and easy little bookmark which fits very snuggly onto a corner of a book, as shown above.

I have used a wonderful flower image from a little set called 'Sunny Days' (£7.50).  It comes complete with a larger flower image, a sentiment and a very cute little hedgehog mowing lol!

 

Here is a list of products used on the project :-

Pink & Black Bazzill cardstock

White Stamping cardstock

Martha Stewart 'Hydranda' and border punch

White/Black Dot ribbon

Black sparkly stones

Black Momento Inkpad

Double-sided tape

Black pen

Promarkers :

Ice Grey I

Rose Pink

Bright Green

Instructions :

(1) Firstly, stamp image onto white cardstock using black Momento inkpad, colour in with listed Promarkers.  Doodle around the image at the edge of the square using a black pen.

(2) Cut a black square measuring 4 x 4 inches.  Score slightly at 2 inches at the top on one side and again on another.  Score between points and fold down both edges. Punch bottom using border punch.

(3) Cut two pink squares measuring, 2.34 x 2.34 inches, cut one in half. Cut another square in black measuring 2.38 x 2.38 inches.

(4) Stick down pink triangle to back of bookmark.  Glue some ribbon to back of pink square and stick down. Layer black square and white stamped image together, tie bow and add black stones.

Cat in a Box!

We have sold the stamp 'Cat in a Box' here for a long time as it is always so popular but we never thought that we would literally have our own, live, Cat in a Box.....

 Here is our Ginny and this is what she did yesterday, the smallest box she could find, she then tried to curl around to settle but of course, there was no way that was going to happen....but how cute does she look and surrounded by lots of gorgeous cards..........

So then off she went to sit with Carol - no work to be done today!  She eventually settled down when Carol fetched a chair and placed it next to her - but don't they do the funniest things?
Does your cat sleep in an unusual place?  We would love to know.........

Brand New on the Website - Dictionary Definition Stamps

Brand new on the Little Claire website - a great set of Dictionary Definition sentiment stamps just perfect for all sorts of family occasions!  You can find them here on the website.

There are stamps for Aunty, Baby, Brother, Sister, Dad, Mum, Daughter, Son, Grandad, Gran, Husband and finally You're a Star.  Each one has a great definition on it - for example, the Mum stamp says 'best friend, one in a million' and the Grandad stamp says 'relaible, funny, my hero, wise'.
