Weekly Blog Project - Poinsettia Card & Candle

Hello, Heidi here. It is my turn to share a blog project with you today, using one of the gorgeous stamps available from the website.

I have made a Christmas card and candle gift set, using the 'Poinsettia Cluster' stamp set. Both are easy to make and are great for Christmas gifts.

Firstly, here is a list of products that I have used and instructions how they were made,

  Candle :

Little Claire 'Poinsettia Cluster' Stamp
Pillar Candle
2 ply White Tissue
Momento 'Tuxedo Black'
Promarkers : Ruby Red & Pear Green
Greaseproof Paper
Heat Gun

Poinsettia Card :

Little Claire 'Poinsettia Cluster' stamp
'Christmas Celebrations' sentiment stamp from
'Snowman Bunting' Stamp set
White Scallop Card Blank
Craft Creations 'Small Poinsettia Paper'
Red & Green Bazzill Cardstock
Red wired ribbon
White A4 Stamping Card
Momento 'Tuxedo Black' Inkpad
Poinsettia Die Shapes
Promarkers : Ruby & Pear Green
Clear Stones

Candle Instructions :

(1) Onto a 2ply tissue, stamp up the 'Poinsettia Cluster' image, colour in lightly with Promarker pens, (dotting the colour on the tissue works well).
(2) Cut around the image. Place image centrally onto candle. Cover with a piece of greaseproof paper and heat lightly using heat gun.
(3) With the heat gun, over the image, after a few seconds of heating, the image will turn shiny, when it does this, stop heating.
(4) Die-cut three sets of the poinsettia, using red & green card. Stick together with sticky pads and add a gold card candy to the centre of the flower.
(5) Cut a oblong of red card to measure 3cms wide, the length can be determined by the size of the candle. Make sure it meets together at the front of the candle.
(6) Stick card strip down with double sided tape and attach flowers to front of candle.

Card Instructions :

(1) Cut a piece of red card and a piece of the 'Poinsettia' paper, stick together.
(2) Wrap red wired ribbon around the card and tie a large bow on the left-hand side of the card, stick down onto card blank.
(3) Onto a piece of white stamping card, stamp up 'Poinsettia Cluster' image, colour in with Promarker's.
(4) Stamp sentiment, 'Christmas Celebrations' onto right-hand side of top of card,
(5) Matt onto a piece of green and red card, stick image down onto card.
(6) Die-cut one green & two red poinsettia's, stick together with small sticky pads and add a gold card candy to centre.
(7) Add clear stone to side of image.

I do hope that you have enjoyed the tutorials today, please leave us a comment.

Lovely Carol's last day in the office today...

...as she is flying out to Majorca tomorrow with her family (her son is taking up a teaching role out there as part of his studies) she will be there for a week in the sun so Steve and I are doing our best to give her all the work before she goes, lol!
Lovely Carol

We've had lots of orders this week, thank you very much and here's a whisper 'look on our web this Sunday, you may like what you see!'

And talking about liking what you see, it's time to show you the cards we made last Saturday afternoon on Helen N's Quick Christmas Cards class (they are lovely!)

Quick Christmas Cards was the name of the class and we used mostly our Die Cut images and our Peel Offs, here is a die cut of Christmas Village Scene and we have covered it with Glitter Sparkle to give a lovely starry effect:

Christmas Village Scene
Here is the main card and the blue background paper is Snowflakes on Mid Blue paper:

Helen used another die cut to make this Deck the Horns card:

Deck the Horns
Complete with Kraft paper and red gems:

And how about this for a wonderful Snowman peel off, simply peel him off the sheet and colour! Helen used white dots on pale blue papers and the stopper has been made with one of our Christmas Postcards stamps

Christmas Snowman Peel Off
Back to die cut sheets and here is a fabby card made using the image of our Snowman Bunting:

Snowman Bunting Die Cut
Helen made lots of quick Christmas cards on the class (too many to show here - my other work is calling - got to go think up new designs for after Christmas) if you look in the Inspiration section on our web you will be able to see the full selection of Helen's quick cards by the end of today x
