Marianne here today with a great gift idea for you to try. I have made several of these plaques as I sell at craft fairs and they are very popular. So many people love the shabby chic look at the moment.
You will need
Shaped 6" Chipboard
(you can cut your own using a die but I used a shaped chipboard album which contains 5 pages)
Alcohol pens
kraft card
Flowery paper
Ribbon (mine is from Crafty Ribbons)
Birdcage die (I used one from a Sizzix set 659122)
Vintage Photo Distress Ink stamp pad
Cream lace
Wooden bird
3 flowers
1 Stamp the birdcage image using Memento ink onto kraft card.
Colour the image and distress the edges with the vintage photo.
2 Using the chipboard as a template cut 2 pieces from the flowery paper. Attach one to the front of the chipboard. Pierce 2 holes and thread ribbon through. Attach ribbon ends to the back of the chipboard and cover with the other piece of paper which you have just cut. Distress edges with vintage photo.
3 Attach a piece of cream lace at an angle across the front. Die cut a birdcage from karft card, ink and attach to top right hand corner. Attach image partially over lace.
4 Ink the wooden bird and attach partly over the image. Attach 3 flowers.
You can view this and all my work on my daily blog.
