Digi Man Squares Project

Hi Folks
Mags here to share a little inspiration for you.  I am a bit late posting this but hope you will forgive me.  Better late than never they say.

I would like to share how I created a male birthday card using digi man squares image.

The background is created by using a sheet of Little Claire ombre paper.  Cut the ombre paper into four squares and swap them around so that you have one dark and light piece at the top and the bottom.  Mount the ombre paper pieces onto some red card and wrap some blue ribbon from top to bottom and side to side.

Cut out four pieces of red card and attach in each corner.  Colour the digi man squares image and apply each image over the red squares.  Add a sentiment and some square gems to the ribbon and the card is complete.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing this project and it has inspired you to have a go.

Bye for now

Friday Blog Project - Just a Note

Good morning everyone - it's Helen here with today's Friday blog project.  Before I start, you may have noticed that it's a case of 'great minds think alike' with my project and Lynsey's project on the blog yesterday!  It was a complete coincidence that we both decided to make similar projects!!

For my project you will need the following:

dark brown card and paper
white stamping card
post-it note pad
Promarkers
red gems

And here's what you need to do:

1. Cut a piece of dark brown card measuring 9cm by 29cm.  With the longest sides facing towards you, score the card at 9cm, 18cm and 27cm.  This will give you three 9cm square panels and a small extra tab measuring 2cm by 9cm.  Fold the card as shown in the photo below:

2. Turn the card round - the first panel will be the base of your post-it note holder.  Cut a square of kraft paper measuring 8.5cm square and stick this to the dark brown base.  Stick your post-it note on top of this as shown in the photo below:

3. The next panel will be the front of the holder.  Cut another piece of kraft paper measuring 8.5cm square and a piece of the red gingham paper measuring 8cm square and stick these to the panel.  I've stamped the very cute 'Waggie Westie' stamp on a piece of white card measuring 6.5cm by 5cm and then matted this on to dark brown paper measuring 7cm by 5.cm.  I then attached this to the middle the gingham paper as shown in the photo below:

4. Turn the holder over and attach some double sided tape to the small end panel as shown in the photo below, folding it in before applying the tape:

5. Cut another piece of dark brown card measuring 6cm by 9cm and attach this to the small panel as shown in the photo below.  Still keeping the main holder face down, apply more tape to the added panel as shown in the photo below:

6. Fold the whole holder round so that the edge you have just applied the tape to sticks to the back of the panel with the post-it pad on it.  This is how the completed holder will look from the side:

7. I've then added some adhesive stones and used a stamp 'just a note' on the image panel - you could also use a computer generated sentiment:

This idea would work with any of the Little Claire Dinkies stamps - there's a great range on the website here.  Plus if you're a Dinkies fan, there are some great paper packs in the same section which are perfect to use with the Dinkies stamps plus some great new Dinkie Stamp Scalloped Edged cards, exclusive to Little Claire:

I will also be hosting a Little Claire workshop called Dinkie Cards on 30 May here on Wirral with example of using the Dinkies stamps to make large and small cards, showing how versatile they can be:

My class will run in the morning with the same class in the afternoon and Gill classes at the same time so you can spend the whole day with us.  Gill's class is called 'Heidi's Cards' - cards designed by the very talented Heidi

We have a lot of fun on the class days - lots of tea, coffee, biscuits as well as lots of Little Claire inspiration plus the chance to have some retail therapy too!  This is a photo from one of the workshops last year:

If you would like to come to one of our classes, all the details are on the website here.  If you live near Crawley, Heidi and Gill are also running classes there in July:

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend - you never know, the sun might last for the next few days!!

Friday Blog Project - 'Pom Pom Dahlia' Card

Good morning to you,

Heidi here to share another blog project with you today.

Have you been enjoying the wonderful 'mini' heat wave that has swept the country? Well, my garden has flowers popping out everywhere, so I thought I would choose a great flower image from the Little Claire range - the 'Pom Pom Dahlia' stamp is just right!  It is a beautiful image and a favourite of mine. It just called out to be inked up and coloured in!

Here is the inside of my card :

I have made a small pop-up card from cream and kraft card.  It is similar to the club card sample that I made recently, using the new 'April Showers' stamp set.  I have used one of the sentiments from that set, on the front of my card.

Here are the products I used :

Pom Pom Dahlia stamp
April Shower's May Club stamp set
Kraft Card
Cream Stamping Card
Memento 'Rich Cocoa' inkpad
Promarkers : Putty, Almond, Khaki and Pastel Beige
Lace and twine oddments
Small cream pearls
Labels # 22 dies

How my card was made :

(1) Cut your kraft card blank to measure : 20cms x 10cms.
(2) Cut a piece of cream card : 20cms x 10cms.
(3) Stamp up the 'Pom Pom Dahlia' image around edge of kraft card blank.
(4) Onto cream piece, stamp up image to each end edges, colour in.
(5) Die cut a piece of cream card, using the larger die.
(6) Stamp up two images, as shown.  Add 'To lovely you ....' sentiment to centre.
(7) Using cream card centre piece, cut two 2cm slits into card at fold, three centimetres
from each edge.

(8) Pop out the centre piece and score edge well.
(9) Die cut smaller die from kraft card.  Edge with flower image and stick to centre piece.

(10) Cut a further flower image onto cream card, colour in and cut out.
(11) Stick to kraft centre piece.
(12) Attach lace and twine and tie a know.
(13) From a small piece of lace, tie a bow and attach to centre flower.
(14) Decorate with small pearls.

I do hope you have enjoyed my tutorial today.  The little 'Pom Pom Dahlia' stamp is only £2.00.  To treat yourself, the website section is HERE.

Geranium Flower – Digi Stamp Project

Morning All! It’s Lisa here with a new ‘Digi Stamp Project'.  Today I’m showcasing the Geranium Flower digi stamp:

I needed a few quick Thank You cards for the children to give out following their haul from the Easter Bunny, so I have created a set of Clean and Simple cards.

I created a simple layout using Microsoft Word, combining the digi image with a typed sentiment. I printed four of these onto a sheet of card.

Geranium Flower (2)

I cut them out and mounted each onto a different colour of card, before fixing to the card blanks with double sided tape.

Geranium Flower (3)

Flowers have been coloured to match the card and to add a little detail I’ve doodled a border, added some pearls and dotted the flower centres with some Glitter Glue.

Here is one of the finished cards:

Geranium Flower (5)

Supplies:

  • Geranium Flower Digi Stamp
  • Alcohol Markers
  • Scalloped 12.5cm Square Card Blanks
  • White Stamping Card
  • Various Coloured Card
  • Self Adhesive Pearls
  • Gold Glitter Glue
  • Black Fineline Pen

Step by Step:

  1. Using the computer combine the digi image with a sentiment and repeat three more times so you have 4 to an A4 page.
  2. Print onto white stamping card and cut out so each measures 10.5cm square.
  3. Mat and layer onto coloured card and fix to the card blanks.
  4. Colour the image with alcohol markers, match the flower colour to the coloured card.
  5. Doodle a border using a black fine line pen.
  6. Decorate with pearls.

Hope you like my project and are inspired to try something similar. If you would like a little more detail on alcohol marker colours please stop by my blog www.craftingbelle.blogspot.com.

Thanks for stopping by
