Summertime Silhouette Boat Card

Hello everyone its Alli here with a little card that I think looks really eye catching and a bit tropical with its bright colours. My hubby loves going fishing to relax and he might be getting this for his next birthday.

what you will need:
black Versa Fine ink pad
6" x 6" base card
orange/red card
black card
white card to stamp onto
X Cut 6" x 6" little hearts embossing folder
die cutting machine
red twine
foam pads
Cut n Dry foam cut to size
spray mister filled with water
Tim Holts distress inks - faded jeans, stormy sky, salty ocean, broken china
barn door, ripe persimmon, spiced marmalade, dried marigold, wild honey

Stick the red/orange card onto the base card and cut to size.

Cut the black card to mat and layer onto the red/orange base card but do not stick down.
Using the X Cut embossing folder run the black card through the die cutting machine (remember to line up and centre the hearts on the embossing folder with your black card).
Cut two pieces of red twine long enough to secure around the back of the black card.
Tie the two pieces of twine together and stick into place with tape at the back of the card.
Stick the black card onto the red/orange base card.

Trim the white card roughly to a size lager than the finished image and using the Tim Holts distress inks and the Cut n Dry begin adding bands of the red/orange colours starting with the darkest at the centre of the paper and working to the top of the paper getting lighter with each band of colour (blend the colours into each other as you go).
Now do the same with the blue colours using the darkest blue at the centre of the paper and fading to lighter blue at the bottom.
Spray the card with water to allow the colours to blend into one another and when dry re-apply more colour if needed.
Allow to dry.

Using the Little Claire silhouette boat stamp and the Vesa Fine ink pad stamp the image onto the coloured card.
Trim the image to size.
Stick the image topper onto the black base card.

Using the Cut n Dry shade a piece of white card with the Tim Holtz wild honey distress ink.
Stamp the sentiment onto the coloured card using the Versa Fine ink pad.
Cut the sentiment to size.
Colour the edges of the sentiment using the Tim Holts ripe persimmon distress ink and some Cut n Dry.
Stick the sentiment onto the card.
