Friday Blog Project - March Flowers

Good morning everyone - it's Helen here with this week's Friday Blog Project.  Today I'm sharing a simple wall hanging I've made using the current club stamp set, 'March Flowers'.

Here's what you'll need to make the project:

white stamping card
blue card
colouring medium of your choice
ribbon

And here's what you need to do:

1. Cut two pieces of white stamping card measuring 6.5cm square and stamp two of the flowers images on to the pieces of card using the Memento ink pad.  Hint - stand up to stamp them if you can - you'll find it easier to line up the box of the stamp on the piece of square card.  Colour the images as shown in the photo below:

2. Mat the stamped and coloured floral images on to pieces of blue card measuring 7cm square as shown in the photo below:

3. Cut three pieces of blue card measuring 9cm square and lay them out in front of you in a vertical line, leaving a small gap between each one, as shown in the photo below:

4. Cut a piece of ribbon long enough to cover the pieces of card twice with spare at the top.  Fold the piece of cut ribbon in half and lay it on top of the squares of card.  Adjust the ribbon so you will have a loop at the top and then stick the ribbon to the squares of card using a piece of tape at the top and bottom of each piece of card.  Keep the ribbon taut between the pieces of card.  When you reach the third piece of card, trim off the ends of the ribbon as shown in the photo below:

5. Cut three pieces of the gingham paper measuring 8.5cm square and attach these to the squares of card, covering the ribbon strips, as shown in the photo below:

6. Mat the flower images on to the top and bottom of the panels.  On the middle panel, mat a piece of blue card measuring 7cm square and another piece of pale blue gingham paper measuring 6.5cm square as shown in the photo below.  I have then added one of the stamps from the 'Dictionary Definition' stamp set.  I stamped it using the Versafine ink pad as this works better on outline stamps than the Memento ink pad.

And here's the finished card again:

I hope you've enjoyed my little tutorial - have a lovely weekend.
