2016 Calendar

Good morning everyone, Marianne here with today's project for you. I made several of these easel calendars last year and as people bought them at fairs thought it time to start making some more. The new toppers from Little Claire are the perfect size and the images are so pretty you would happily look at them all year long. These make a great present.

You will need
6"x6" white card blank
Purple papers (I used First Edition New Bloom)
Calendar tab
Lilac ribbon
Lilac card
Selection of purple flowers (I used apple blossom and roses)
Martha Stewart zigzag border punch

1 Cut two pieces of striped paper, one 13.8cm square and one 13.8cm x 6.5cm. Mount both pieces onto lilac card.
2 Fold the front of the card blank in half to form a mountain fold for the easel.
3 Cut a strip of contrasting paper 13.8cm x 5.5cm. Cut the bottom of the strip with the border punch. Attach to the 13.8cm square paper 8cm from the bottom.
4 Wrap a piece of lilac ribbon in top of this paper, fixing the ends underneath the lilac card. Attach the  square to the bottom section of the card with the stripes going downwards.
5 Wrap a piece of lilac ribbon around the other piece of striped card attaching the ends underneath the lilac card. Attach to the front of the easel card blank.
6 Attach the small strip of patterned paper left from the border punching  1.5cm away from the punched border.
7 Mount the topper onto lilac card and attach to the front as shown. Glue three flowers either side of the topper. Attach the calendar tab level with the top of the punched paper so that it acts as a stopper for the easel.

I hope you enjoy making these. Please visit my blog for daily inspiration.

Thursday Blog Project - Glittery Poinsettia

Morning all, today it is my turn to do the Blog Project.  I hope you like what I have come up with.

I met up with Steve at the Ross Papercraft Show, here in Edinburgh last Saturday and bought some goodies, that I used on this project.

Little Claire's Products Used

I started off, printing the Poinsettia Digi Stamp onto White Card, I use - Xerox Colotec A4 250gsm White Card.  I Die Cut around the image, and also Die cut a piece of the Glitter Sparkle Sheet to the same size. I coloured the image - using Spectrum Noir blend-able Pencils.  For the Red I used - Nos. 007, 024, 027 and 106, for the Green, I used 044, 045 and 047. After colouring I added the Glitter Sparkle Sheet over the image,  I then die cut a piece of black card onto the the image. I finally added some Gold Glitter Sparkles to the centre of the coloured image.

I then Matted and Layered the Green Snowy Ombre Paper to a piece of Black Card. I cut a piece of the Pink Snowy Ombre Paper and Ran it through my big-shot with the FREE Stars embossing folder that came with a recent Making Cards Magazine - Christmas Edition. I then added Green Ribbon around the layered embossed card.

Using Dewdrops Ink Pad - Cottage Ivy, I stamped the Dinkie Postcard Stamp - Happy Christmas onto a piece of white card, then trimmed around it, took the Cottage Ivy ink pad around the edge of the stamp.  This was then added to the Embossed card with a brad from my stash.

Finally I added the matted and layered image onto the card, then added some Card Candi to the corners to finish.

I hope you like how this card turned out..Thank you for visiting.

Friday Blog Project - Little Claire Outline Stickers

Have you seen the wonderful range of outline stickers from Little Claire?  Click here to take you to the outline sticker section of the website and take a look at all the great designs!

Four new outline sticker sheets have just been released and today I'm going to share cards made with two of the sheets.

First of all, a card made using the 'Scottie and Snowman' sheet which is here on the website.  There are three designs on each sheets plus various sentiments.

So to make this card you need:

white stamping card
green card
gold card or paper
black fine liner
colouring medium of your choice

1. Gently remove one of the snowman and scottie images from the outline sticker sheet.  I bend the sheet slightly to release one side of the image and then carefully peel away the rest using tweezers.  Let the sticker 'rest' for a minute and then put it on your cutting mat, sticky side up.  Use one of the lines on your cutting mat line up the sticker as shown below:

2. Cut a piece of white card which is larger than the panel you want to end up with and carefully place this over the sticker, lining the card up with another line on your cutting mat as shown in the photo below:

3, Your outline sticker will now be straight on the piece of card and you can trim it as required:

4. You can now colour the image and make it up in to a card.  Outline stickers are perfect if you struggle with colouring stamped images because the lines of the stickers stop you going over the edges when you're colouring!

5. You will also notice that this sheet has some more detail on it.  I haven't added all the smaller pieces but I have used the snow round the snowman.  Personally I found the pieces of the stickers for the eyes of the snowman and dog a bit too small so I  drew in these details with a black fine liner pen.

And here's another view of the card:

Next a very quick and easy card using the 'Silhouette Cats on Roof' sticker sheet - you can find them find them here on the Little Claire website.

For this card you will need:

Glitter Sparkle Sheet - currently on offer here: 3 packs for the price of 2
dark blue paper

1. Cut a piece of the Glitter Sparkle Sheet slight larger than the piece of paper from the Mini Falling Snow paper pack.

Next a very quick and easy card using the 'Silhouette Cats on Roof' sticker sheet - you can find them find them here on the Little Claire website.

For this card you will need:

Glitter Sparkle Sheet - currently on offer here: 3 packs for the price of 2
dark blue paper

1. Select the colour of paper from the Mini Falling Snow paper pack - the darker colours will work better here because of the Glitter Sparkle Sheet.  Line up the sheet on one of the lines on your cutting mat and add the rooftoop, the reindeer and sleigh and a few stars.

2.  Cut a piece of the Glitter Sparkle Sheet slight larger than the piece of paper from the Mini Falling Snow paper pack.  Remove the backing paper and lay it on your cutting mat, sticky side facing up.  Place the sheet of paper gently on the film and rub the back of it.  Turn it over and rub the Sparkle Sheet over the outline stickers to make the design 'pop'.

3. Finish the card by adding a paper layer and then matting it on to a card blank.  Add the outline sticker greeting on top of the Sparkle Sheet and you've complete the card.

I hope you enjoyed my project and it has inspired you to take a closer look at the Little Claire outline stickers here,

Just before I go, I want to let you know about some great stamp offers from Little Claire:

£12.99 stamp sets are now £8.00

‘Fantastic offer from Little Claire, we can’t be at the Ally Pally show this weekend so here is a great offer on all of our stamps which is available to everyone’

Have a wonderful weekend

I have made this for a darling little girl who loves the film 101 Dalmations and I can`t wait to see her face when she opens it.

what you will need:
Little Claire Dalmation in flowers digi stamp
Little Claire Rebeccas Really Useful Female Stamp Set
Hobbycraft General Sentiments Clear Stamp
Tattered Lace Essentials Circles Dies - No5
Joy Crafts Floral Flourishes Leaves die 6003 0001
Marianne Creatables Flower Die LR0110
die cutting machine
Versa Fine black ink pad
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads - Picked Raspberry, Tumbled Glass,
Salty Ocean, Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, Evergreen Bough
Cut n Dry foam
Nit Wit Pastel Dreams paper pad - dark pink paper
spotty paper
6" x 6" white base card
white card to print onto
good quality mat print paper
pink card
black card scraps
Tonic butterfly boot punch
Glamour Dust glitter
wet glue & brush
ring binder hole punch
colouring in implements of your choice

Cut the Nit Wit Pastel Dreams dark pink paper to mat and layer onto the base card but do not stick down.
Using a piece of Cut n Dry foam shade the edges of the pink paper with the Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.
Stick the paper onto the 6" x 6" base card.

Go to the link Black and White Spotty Background Paper (which will take you to a page on my blog) and select the image and save the image to the pictures file on your computer.
Open the spotty background paper file in your graphics program and re size to 12.5cm x 12.5cm and print onto good quality mat print paper.
If the spots appear fuzzy go over them with a black fine tip pen to sharpen them up.
Cut the image down to 12.5cm x 12.5cm.
Stick the spotty paper onto the base card at a jaunty angle.

In your graphics program import the Little Claire Dalmation in Flowers digi stamp and re size it so that the grass at the bottom of the image measures 8cm from side to side.
Print the image onto good quality card.
Cut the image to size (8.5cm x 7.5cm).
Colour in the image with your choice of colouring in implements.
Mat and layer the coloured image onto pink card.
Stick the image topper onto the base card at  jaunty angle.

Using the Little Claire Rebeccas Really Useful Female Stamp Set "Gran Daughter" and the Versa Fine black ink pad stamp the sentiment onto white card.
Cut the sentiment out using the Tattered Lace Essentials Circles Die No 5.
Tint the edges of the sentiment with the Tim Holts Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and apply using a piece of Cut n Dry foam.
Using a paint brush apply wet glue to the outside edge of the sentiment, sprinkle with Glamour Dust glitter, shake off the excess and allow to dry.
Stick the sentiment onto the base card.
Using the Tonic butterfly boot punch and a scrap of the Nit Wit Pastel Dreams dark pink paper punch out a butterfly.
Bend the butterfly wings back and stick onto the sentiment.

Using the Marianne Creatables Flower Die LR0110 cut one flower from white card.
Tint the flower using Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Ink on the outside of the petals and Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Ink at the centre of the petals.
Shape the petals slightly.
Brush the flower with wet glue.
Sprinkle Glamour Dust glitter over the flower, shake off the excess and allow to dry.
Cut a circle of the Nit Wit Pastel Dreams dark pink paper and bevel it.
Stick the bevelled pink circle onto the centre of the flower (I always use  glue gun when gluing onto glitter. With this centre I put a circle of glue around the middle of the flower to hold the bevelled pink centre and hen I was happy with the position I turned the flower over and through the hole in the centre I squeezed more hot glue to fill the void).
Stick the flower onto the card.

On a piece of white card stamp the Hobbycraft sentiment using the Versa Fine black ink pad.
Cut the sentiment to size.
Mat and layer the sentiment onto black card.
Stick the sentiment onto the base card.

Using the Joy Crafts Floral Flourishes Leaves Die 6003 0001 cut out both leaves.
Using the Cut n Dry foam and the Tim Holts Distress Inks Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn and Evergreen Bough colour in the leaves.
Shape the leaves and stick onto the base card but remember to place the stalks of the leaves under the flower petals.

Punch out 3 dots from black card using the ring binder hole punch.
Bevel the dots and stick to the top right of the card.

Friday Blog Project - Butterfly Blossoms Card

Hello, Heidi here to share another blog project with you, using one of the many stamps from the Little Claire range.

I have chosen to use 'Butterfly Blossoms', a beautiful floral image with two butterflies.  It is an image I haven't used for a while and a couple of days ago, I saw two butterflies similar to the ones in the image, on my buddlia bushes in the garden. I am not sure of their names, but they were really graceful, flitting everywhere before they flew away.  They inspired me to find this stamp and ink it up!

I have used the wonderful 'Little Claire' - 'Ombre' papers behind the images and have added glossy accents to the flowers and butterflies.

Here are the products used on my card :

Little Claire 'Sending Smiles' sentiment dinky set
Little Claire 'Ombre' papers
Blue Bazzill Card
White Card Blank (15cms x 15cms)
White stamping card
Rich Cocoa Memento Inkpad
Promarker Pens : Denim Blue, Pastel Blue, Pastel Beige,
Caramel and Khaki.
Glossy Accents
Large cream pearls
(Most products available on the website HERE)

How my card was put together :

(1) Onto white stamping card, stamp up twice and colour in.
(2) From second image, cut out large and smaller butterflies. Stick cut-out butterflies onto image.
(3) Matt main image onto a blue piece of card, leaving 1/2cm edge.
(4) Cut a square of blue card to fit card blank.
(5) Stick a piece of 'Ombre' paper onto blue card, again leaving a 1/2cm edge.
(6) Onto an oblong of white stamping card, stamp up floral image all over, colour in.
(7) Matt onto a piece of blue card.
(8) Start sticking layers together as card.
(9) Stamp up sentiment and once again matt onto blue card.
(10) Add pearls and glossy accents to main image, leave to dry.

That's my project done, I do hope you enjoyed it.  Thank you for stopping by the blog today.

Thursday Project from Susan R

Hi - It's Susan R today with my special Thursday Digi Project!

Look at this lovely image - digi Three Ships - perfect for the current digi Challenge here at Little Claire - Christmas

Today I decided to make an easel card...you will find more details on my blog here

Instructions
  1. Take a square card blank and an extra square of card the same size as the blank. Fold one side of the card up to the centre fold. The other side becomes the base and the folded piece the easel. Stick the extra card to this. I used card pre-embossed with a gift motif.
  2. Decorate the image - I used just two Promarkers - Powder Blue and yellow. Having trimmed this to size, I distressed the edges with Powder blue and matted it on torn blue DP from my stash, also distressed with Powder Blue.
  3. Make a stand for the easel - I used more white card and torn blue DP. I hand wrote my sentiment and added buttons threaded on some hairy yarn.

And that's it...

Do have a look at Little Claire to see the whole set of digi's!
Looking forward to seeing your makes in the Challenge!

Lovely Card Ideas

Snowmen Irresistible Image
Good morning...and what a lovely morning here at Little Claire now that the fog is lifting. Following the launch of our new Irresistible Images, we thought we should show you some of Helen's scrummy samples made with a selection of the designs available. We LOVE this snowman card(above), using one of the six designs from the Snowman pack - there are three of each design in each pack. Helen has mounted the image on a paper from our Quirky Quilts paper pack - no colouring involved, all the work is done for you!

This lovely card features one of the images from the Silhouette pack, mounted on to a sheet of Ombre paper.

You can add your own greeting to your images as shown here above, using an image from the Christmas pack and mounted on Christmas Quirky Quilts paper.

Add embellishments to the images as Helen has done with her cards, just a few carefully placed gems in the corner adds a bit of sparkle to this lovely card made with one of the images from the Floral pack, mounted on to Pastel Tartan paper.

Just a few ideas to inspire you, please let us know what you think of our Irresistible Images and don't forget to enter our competition to win your favourite pack (see yesterday's blog post)!
