At Home Quirky Quilts Card

Hi Shary here with the Friday blog project. I have made a lovely new home card using the new Quirky Quilts papers and an old favourite of mine the "At Home" stamp set.

This one can be a bit fiddly with paper piecing the image but you could colour it instead.
I have used:

Little Claire "At Home" stamp set.
Little Claire Paper Pack - Quirky Quilts
Blank white card
Clear embossing powder

1. First off I used the purple sheet of Quirky Quilts papers to cover the blank card but I did add a little grey distress ink around the edges.

2. I then stamped the image onto a piece of white card using the memento black ink and then I clear embossed it.

3. I paper pieced the image using the green and pink piece of Quirky Quilts papers. I again inked the edges and matted it onto a piece of pale blue card. Then the card was inked. I adhered the image to the card using 3D pads.

4. I then cut out some of the hexagons from the purple sheet of Quirky Quilts paper and edged them with the distress ink.

5. Next I  embossed them a little to give them some shape.

I then randomly adhered them over the flat hexagons using 3D pads to give them a raised look.

I think this gives the card a lovely quilted look and it's a great idea for a new home card.

Who's for Cupcakes

Hi Everyone
Mags here to share a little inspiration with you.  Today I have made a birthday card and for a change it is an easel card.

Materials Used
15cm x 15cm card blank
15cm x 15cm square of white card
Pink card
Pink ribbon
Pink gems
Die cut fence and bird
Sentiment Stamp

1.  I stared by making my easel card.  I took the card blank and folded one side of the card in half to create the mechanism.

2.  For the front topper of the card I printed the digi onto some card and coloured using promarkers.  This was then matted onto some pink card.  I used some scraps of patterned paper from my stash for the background before adding the die cut fence and bird.  I also stamped and cut out the greeting.

3.  For the base of the card I used the digi cupcake trio onto white and pink card.  This was mounted using foam pads to create the stopper for the easel card to stand up.  Some thin pink ribbon and gems were the finishing touch.

Thanks for popping by.

Post it holder and pen

Marianne here with today's project. I know there were a couple of different post it holders on here a little while ago but this one includes a pen and is a bit different to the others. I wanted to make some to sell at craft fairs and after playing around with a few ideas finally settled on this design.

You will need
Black card
White stamp pad
10cm square MDF coaster
Double sided card (or you could use card and cover it with paper)
Corner punch (optional)
Postits
Pen

1 Cut card 10cm x 23.6cm. Score and fold at 11.2cm and 12.4cm.
2 Cover the top of the coaster with a piece of 10cm square card. Sand the edges which helps to adhere the card to the MDF and gives a smooth finish.
3 Attach the scored and folded card to the bottom of the coaster.

4 Stamp the image onto black card using the white stamp pad. Cut to 7cm wide x 9cm high. Use a decorative corner punch on all corners (optional). I have used a Martha Stewart corner punch. Attach to the top.
5 Attach the postits to the coaster. Pen clips inside.

The card I used had different patterns on either side. This shows the inside of the holder.

I hope this has given you another idea for making one of these. You could also use a memo block rather than postits. They make a nice little present and would be great as teacher's gifts.

Blog Project - Silhouette Outline Sticker Card

Good morning everyone, it's Helen N here with this week's Friday Blog Project and I'm going to show you how to make a simple scene card using one of the new Silhouette Outline Stickers and some of the gorgeous Little Claire Ombre paper.

Here's what you'll need to make the card:

blue paper or card
black paper or card
14.5cm square card blank
Promarkers - I used Vanilla and Saffron
March Flowers Stamp Set (for the sentiment)

And this is what you need to do:

1. Carefully peel one of the outline sticker squares off the sheet and place it face down on your cutting mat.  Line up the bottom edge of the sticker with one of the lines on the mat as shown in the photo below:

2. Choose one of the papers from the Mini Ombre Paper Pack.  Place the paper face down over the outline sticker square using the lines on your cutting mat as a guide.  This will ensure that your outline sticker is straight across the ombre design as shown in the photo below:

3. Cut out the outline sticker square using the edges of the sticker to guide your scissors and put this to one side.

4. I've put lots of layers on my card base so I thought I would share my tip for getting the layers of papers straight and evenly spaced.  Put a piece of double sided tape along each edge of the piece of paper and then peel off a small 'tab' at one end of each piece of tape as shown in the photo below:

5. Mat the layer on to the bigger piece of paper - the tabs will mean that you have room to move the top piece of paper easily if you don't get it straight first time.  Once you're happy with the layers, pull the tabs to remove the rest of the tape.

6. The layers I've used are (working up from the base) 14cm square of blue card, 13.5cm square of black paper, 13cm square of blue card, 11.5cm square of black paper and finally an 11cm square of Ombre paper.  This is from the full size pack and the designs in this and the Mini Ombre Paper Pack match so you can use the same colours.

A tip when you cut the Ombre paper is to ensure that you cut the same amount from each side of the paper.  The paper measures 14cm square in the pack and on my card, the piece I've used measures 11cm square.  If you just cut 3cm off two sides of the paper, you will end up with more of one colour of the ombre shading than the other.  Instead make sure you cut 1.5cm off each side of the paper so you keep the ombre colouring even.

7. Mat the sticker square on to the front of the card matching up the ombre colours on the base paper.  Colour the sun with Promarkers - I've used Vanilla and Saffon as I felt the darker yellow colours looked better against the background.  Stamp a sentiment and finish the card with black gems:

Here are some more cards I created with the new Silhouette Outline Sticker sheets:

'Dancers' sheet

Outline stickers are a great option when you want a quick but effective card.

I hope you've enjoyed my little tutorial - don't forget to visit us tomorrow for our new monthly challenge.

Office Shed – Digi Stamp Project

Morning All! It’s Lisa here with a new ‘Digi Stamp Project' and today I’m showcasing the Office Shed digi stamp:

maleshed

With Father’s Day fast approaching here in the UK it’s time to get a few masculine cards made and for any garden lovers out there this image is just perfect.

Office Shed (4)

I’ve coloured the shed with alcohol markers and tried to make it look textured like real wood.  And to brighten the card up a little I’ve made a simple sky and grass background using some bright green and blue card.

Office Shed (10)

I made this card to give to my Dad for Father’s Day so I’ve made it into an easel card so that I’ve have extra space for the sentiment. Here is the finished card:

Office Shed (6)

Supplies:

  • Office Shed Digi Stamp
  • Seed Packet Digi Stamp
  • Alcohol Markers
  • 15cm Square White Card Blank
  • White Stamping Card
  • Beige, Blue and Green Coloured Card
  • Cloud Dies
  • Plain Circle Dies

Step by Step:

  1. Score the front of the card blank and fold in half to form the easel.
  2. Cut 2 pieces of blue card 13.5cm square. Mat onto white and then beige card and fix one to the inside of the card and one to the easel.
  3. Cut a piece of 13.5cm by 8cm green card. Cut this in half using a wavy line and fix to each of the blue panels.
  4. Die cut the clouds from white card and fix to the top of the card.
  5. Print both images onto white stamping card. Cut the Office Shed image out leaving a small white border round the edge and die cut the Seed Packet image into a circle and colour both images with alcohol markers.
  6. Fix the shed to the card using foam pads.
  7. Write the sentiment on the computer and print onto white card. Trim into a fishtail and mat onto beige card. Fix to the card blank with foam pads.
  8. Mat the seed packet image onto a circle die cut from beige card and fix to the card blank using foam pads.

Hope you like my project and are inspired to try something similar. If you would like a little more detail on alcohol marker colours please stop by my blog www.craftingbelle.blogspot.com

Thanks for stopping by
